Niwatt Chittalarn, President & Chief Executive Officer, “KTC” or Krungthai Card Public Company Limited, the leading Thai consumer finance company, said “The Thai wedding industry has grown significantly in the past three to four years to a size of over 5,000 Million Baht. Weddings in Thailand are generally similar. They involve a lot of guests, hotel ballrooms and high expenses. From our experience we have realized that loans and credit card transactions involving weddings constitute a huge amount of money. The current economic recess does not really allow for that kind of spending, however. As a membership company with partners in hotel, airlines, fashion, cosmetics, jewelry, dining and other industries, we realize the need to encourage consumers to spend reasonably. We believe that wedding couples still have a long way to go together. That is why we have assigned our Leisure Marketing team to come up with wedding arrangement service within an appropriate budget for 1.92 million KTC accounts and partners’ clients. The focus is on new and exciting themes which our members should find intimate and impressive. Weddings can be small or large for 50 or more guests. We are talking about new concepts and new places never before used for weddings. For example, old palaces which belonged to nobles of the past eras, Lanna Outdoor Museum, houses of prominent figures in the past or even at your home which we can dress up very nicely. We will also have travel packages for honeymoon to a variety of destinations, many of which are in Thailand. Besides, clients can settle the amount using their credit card or pay in installments with KTC Flexi. This will allow members to plan their finances more effectively.” Staporn Sirisinha, Senior Executive Vice President for Leisure Marketing, “KTC”, added “KTC VIVA Valentine’s 2008 will become Thailand’s grand event and position KTC as an organizer of special activities and weddings. This event is sponsored by Tourism Authority of Thailand, MasterCard, Chiang Mai Provincial Administration Organization and Chiang Mai Municipality. It will be an international wedding ceremony involving 14 couples on 14 hot air balloons from all four corners of the world. KTC VIVA Valentine’s 2008 is scheduled for February 13th to 17th, 2008 with opening ceremony on February 14th, 2008 at Kamluang Hall, Ratchapruek, Chiang Mai. Registration is open to couples anywhere in the world from now until December 10th, 2007. The wedding will be grandest in the Lanna tradition. Marriage registration will take place on balloons as they fly over Chiang Mai early in the morning of February 14th. 2-night Doi Tung Lodge honeymoon packages will be offered, inclusive of accommodations for family and friends. We hope it will grow by words of mouth and will be able to help our clients spend sensibly and in such a manner that does not incur debt to themselves and their family.
