phuketboatshow.comBy eTN Sep 10, 2008Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) recently announced new incentive programs to help organizers with confirmed events in Thailand during September to December 2008. The program is expected to help sustain the double-digit growth in MICE visitors seen in Thailand in recent years.Despite the political impasse, 74 TCEB-supported events scheduled for the remainder of 2008 are still confirmed in Thailand. This demonstrates the resilience of the industry and the confidence of business visitors for Thailand as a globally-preferred MICE destination.The Bureau also plans to invite organizers across all MICE sectors to visit Thailand and spend some time to see the real situation for themselves. As well as the fully / subsidized inspection tour program for overseas MICE operators, TCEB is launching three attractive incentive schemes for MICE events to be held in Thailand. The “Three Pluses” scheme, to be offered to organizers of MICE events this year are as follows:Meetings Plus ProgramThis scheme is being offered for Meetings and Incentives groups with a 3 nights’ stay in Bangkok. A fourth night at the same level of accommodation will be given free, at the courtesy of TCEB. The offer applies to groups with confirmed reservations for the period of September 15 – December 31, 2008.Conventions Plus ProgramConvention organizers with confirmed events from now until December 2008 can take advantage of additional support for every international delegate attending their event, in the amount of 200 Baht per person per day. The incentive is given on top of the Bureau’s normal subvention scheme as a token of thanks for their confidence and loyalty towards Thailand.Exhibitions Plus ProgramEvery trade show supported by TCEB will receive a direct 200,000 Baht subsidy, in addition to the normal support program, to be spent on international media or hosted buyers.
