During your visit to our Bangkok International Gift Fair and Bangkok International Houseware Fair 2008 (BIG+BIH 2008), the Department of Export Promotion would like to invite you to join “Thailand Trade Mart Tour” to visit Thailand’s famous handicraft and fashion center at Chatuchak Weekend Market, J.J. Plaza and J.J. Mall on Saturday 18th, October 2008 at 9.30 a.m.-3.30 p.m.
Chatuchak Weekend Market is one of the world’s largest weekend markets covers area of 70 rai (28 acres) altogether divided into 28 sections, contains more than 15,000 booths selling goods from every part of Thailand. Chatuchak Weekend Market is a very popular shopping centre to Thais and has become a popular place to tourists and foreigners. There have over 200,000 visitors each day (FRI-SUN). There are almost everything can be found here at a bargaining local price, and most vendors actually come from local factories, like antique wood carving, clay handicrafts, local souvenirs, hand made decorated flowers, ceramic wares, trendy fashions, silk, etc.
J.J.Plaza is another famous open-air market. There are more than 700 shops in 17 rai (6.8 acres), where you can find a great variety of goods everyday. This place is a big market for Thai local products export. The variety and lively atmosphere of J.J.Plaza has added color to Bangkok people for a long time.
J.J.Mall is next to Chatuchak Weekend Market. It is a 3-storeyed and air-conditioned shopping center, which contains more than 1,100 shops. It is a center of various merchandises ranging from products from wisdom and exported goods to delicious cuisines for domestic and foreign shoppers. J.J.Mall is an everyday Bangkok shopping paradise where you can buy everything from clothing, handicrafts, arts & paintings, and various items of home décor & accessories.
